Prove Its!

‘Just because we taught it doesn't mean they learned it’

As a result we have produced a comprehensive bank of mini assessment questions and quizzes to enable pupils to ‘prove’ their learning through the application of knowledge and skills. Pupils engage with a range of ‘prove its’ to allow teachers to assess whether or not the learning has ‘stuck’. The Prove-Its are provided on a USB stick for ease of downloading and sharing within your school.

‘Prove its’:

Cost: £500 (£250 to PA Maths member schools and schools using The Fundamentals Tracker)

Please email development@primaryadvantage.hackney.sch.uk to request access to Prove Its.

Building an Assessment Toolkit in Maths

‘Prove its!’ are an integral feature of our approach to assessment. This course will explore a range of
different mini quizzes, problems, tests and quick fire questions that children and teachers can use to
assess learning. We will look both the PA bank and the skills needed to ‘build your own’.
Primary Advantage have developed a bank of maths resources that can be used by teachers as an
ongoing means to assess children’s understanding of key knowledge and skills. Having commissioned
the creation of this bank it is now available for purchase as part of the PA maths package and is also
embedded within the Primary Fundamentals Assessment Tracker. It can be accessed as a stand alone
resource bank (see ‘Maths assessment-Prove its’).

This session is for all schools, whether or not they have purchased the resource. All those attending are
advised to bring laptops to the session. It will be a hands on course, looking at how teachers can
effectively create their own assessment questions with appropriate pitch, progression and challenge.
Teachers will look at different question types, online resources and reflect on how ‘Prove its’ can be
used as an effective contribution to assessment.

£145 per person (VAT payable by schools outside Hackney). For dates and bookings please see below.
