TLCs

Teacher learning communities will take place at three points throughout the year. It is an opportunity for all teachers across the federation to engage with a range of wider school focus.

TLCs will be run by specialist leaders of education and lead teachers within the federation. A range of areas will be covered and teachers can choose a different workshop each time. All those in attendance will then have a go at implementing practice and sharing this back at school. Practitioners can select three research groups throughout the year.

Cross school moderation will give teachers the opportunity to come together in year groups to share best practice around assessment. Using the Primary Advantage Fundamentals teachers will establish which children are on track to achieve their yearly objectives. These sessions will give practitioners the opportunity to share a range of assessment types, look closely at learning and share thinking. Practitioners are expected to bring a cross section of books and assessment evidence to discuss with their colleagues. This session will provoke in depth discussion around assessment, making judgements and responding to the needs of all learners.

Subject Leader Forums

Every half term the subject leaders from across the Federation come together to share best practice. This is an opportunity to discuss new projects and embed current systems.  Subject leaders will have the opportunity to reflect on the monitoring and assessment processes in place and discuss the impact on teaching and learning in their subject area. This is an exciting opportunity for all leaders to both innovate and enhance practice in the area they are passionate about.  All subject leaders leading core areas of the curriculum will come together each half term.
