Building an Assessment Toolkit - Literacy

Prove its!are an integral feature of our approach to assessment. This course will explore a range of different mini quizzes, problems, tests and quick fire questions that children and teachers can use to assess learning. The session will look at the creation of prove itsfor SPAG, reading skills and core aspects of writing. These can be used by teachers as an ongoing means to assess childrens understanding of key knowledge and skills in key aspects of the English Curriculum.

Primary Advantage have developed a bank of maths resources. This course will look at how teachers can use this approach as the basis to start producing their own resources for literacy.

All those attending are advised to bring laptops to the session. It will be a hands on course, looking at how teachers can effectively create their own assessment questions with appropriate pitch, progression and challenge. Teachers will look at different question types, online resources and reflect on how Prove itscan be used as an effective contribution to literacy assessment.

Originating from Singapore maths, this pictorial representation supports children in problem solving and is a very useful addition to their maths toolkit; the session introduces participants to the idea and its application within the primary classroom.

Building an Assessment Toolkit - Maths

‘Prove its!’ are an integral feature of our approach to assessment. This course will explore a range of different mini quizzes, problems, tests and quick fire questions that children and teachers can use to assess learning. We will look both the PA bank and the skills needed to build your own’.

Primary Advantage have developed a bank of maths resources that can be used by teachers as an ongoing means to assess childrens understanding of key knowledge and skills. Having commissioned the creation of this bank it is now available for purchase as part of the PA maths package and is also embedded within the Primary Fundamentals Assessment Tracker. It can be accessed as a stand alone resource bank (see ‘Maths assessment-Prove its’).

This session is for all schools, whether or not they have purchased the resource. All those a ending are advised to bring laptops to the session.
